Our farms

On our 3 farms we blend time-honored practices with sustainable innovation to deliver pure, nutritious milk you can trust, straight from our fields to the dairy all located within 1.5 miles of the dairy in the Vale of Belvoir.

Over the years improvements have been made to the farms and dairy to comply with today’s rigorous demands of hygienic food production.

During this time, the method of manufacture has been kept as close to the traditional methods as possible. This includes retaining such labour intensive processes as hand-ladling the curds, which are then drained, hand turned and hand pierced all true to the cheesemaking methods we have used to create our cheeses since 1913.

Our herds

Our cows are at the centre of the Colston Bassett dairy & really are part of the family. Just 3 farms produce the milk we use and so we know our cows, their personalities and their names and here is a little idea of what they get up to on our farms throughout the year.
